Great Media Debate

The Great Media Debate, started by Clark and Kozma in the 1990s, sought to answer the question, "do media influence learning?"

To sum up Clark's argument, "...media are mere vehicles that deliver instruction but do not influence student achievement any more than the truck that delivers our groceries causes changes in our nutrition." To sum up Kozma's argument, "[certain media] possess particular characteristics that make them both more and less suitable for the accomplishment of certain kinds of learning tasks."
